back from NYCC

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 24, 2008, 9:01 AM
Wow, NYCC was great. I met plenty of new cool artists and fans (and just cool random people).

A great experience that I'm going to try to renew next year (knock on wood - I need to get a table at the AA again.)

Thanks to all of you who stopped by and talked for a bit, and to my patrons who bought my art.

I'm still tired from the experience, so I'm going to take it easy and keep this one short.

I don't think I'll do SDCC because of their new Artist Alley rules that allow for only a 3' table and no display higher than 4', which means that I can't show anything. However, I'm thinking of going to GenCon with a buddy...I'll keep you posted.

Peace,

C.

PS: this is worth sharing imho:

Staring contest is the 2nd most popular piece of all time in digital/paintings/fantasy, according to this link: [link]

    Great gallery man.

Especially the Lovecraft stuff. Though I'm not a particularly big fan of his.

My friend Dom and I stopped by earlier today (Saturday, 19th, Comicon) and chatted with you for about ten or so minutes. I was the one with the gryphons and the angel tattoo on my arms.

We absolutely loved your work, it is fantastic and gorgeous. I wish I could have bought something from your table, but I don't have that kind of capital right now.

    Still. In the future.

(Ps. You should do more gryphons. :D)

Yes, I agree. It's so stupid! Besides, I'll never understand what they get from it? All the praise they get isn't to them anyway and they can't really feel proud over it since they didn't do it either! Well, this one got caught anyway! ;) No problems!

siigh, another one. Thanks, Yikyik. I am amazed at the stupidity of some of those people who says publicly that they painted it.
