There's always more

The intention behind this image was political, obviously. My approach was to try to make the viewer react based solely on his personal political affiliation, and his knowledge of history. As such, it is fair to assume that a pro-Bush will see this image as a tribute to a man who is taking the reign and leading the nation in his "crusade" against the Axis of Evil and Terrorism. A leader ready for combat leading the troops with confidence and patriotism. The anti-Bush will see this image as a ignorant leader, medieval in knowledge and spirit, leading a catastrophic general "Crusade" against the rest of the World, mostly by ignoring common sense, abiding laws and by bullying their way into world politics, not to mention the Geneva Convention blunder, Kyoto, landmines, and that's just the surface. Lastly, those knowledgeable about World War II and the propaganda machine will recognize the source material used for this pose. As a closing matter, I am not saying that one is the other, I am merely saying that if you study History, you will see uncomfortable resemblances and parallels between both's administration politics.
Here's the link to the "other" source material : [link] |
